  • Discovery Scuba Dive- Rotatan, Honduras May 2015

Here's a video (professionally done) of a PADI Discovery Dive I did in Roatan, Honduras on my birthday back in May 27th (present from Becky!). For those not familiar, a Discovery Dive is an introductory dive opportunity/class offered by PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) dive operations in major diving centers around the world.

    Discovery scuba description:

Have you always wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? If you want to try scuba diving, but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is for you. PADI dive shops offer this program either in a pool, off a beach or from a dive boat. You can try scuba close to home or while you’re on vacation at a dive destination. While not a scuba certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. To sign up for a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 10 years old. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health.

Check out the web link below and plan a time to experience an awesome time and better understanding of the reefs we try to emulate in our own tanks.

We completed the classroom activities, followed by a check-out dive for equipment use in 4 foot deep water before heading out on boat to reef about 3/4 of a miles offshore. Some of the best stony coral I have seen in Caribbean Basin. Enjoy!

Welcome to diving. It’s an amazing world under there. I dife as often as possible off our coast to get dinner. The things you see and tranquillity of it all is amazing. One of the big reasons I put a marine tank in my house.
